John Fagan, received his bachelor of science from the University of Washington and a doctorate in biochemistry, and molecular and cell biology from Cornell University. At the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) and subsequently in academia, Professor Fagan conducted cancer research using cutting edge molecular biological techniques and he has received prestigious Research Career Development Award. He was an early voice in the GMO debate, and is now recognized as one of the world’s leading authorities on GMO testing and non-GMO certification. Dr. Fagan pioneered the development of DNA tests to detect genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food and agricultural products. He founded and serves as the chief scientific officer of the Global ID Group, whose subsidiaries include Genetic ID, Cert ID and Food Chain Global Advisors.
